<strong>NOTICE:  Emergency Department Construction,  Entrance Access</strong> 

<p>
On Feb. 8, 2012, construction will begin on a new and larger Emergency Department for the Washington DC VA Medical Center (DCVAMC).  During the construction period,  access through the Emergency Department entrance will be restricted to those with emergency health needs (and their family or support person) and those with direct business with Emergency Department personnel.    Visitors to the Medical Center are encouraged to use the main entrance to the facility and NO DELIVERIES are to be made via the Emergency Department.  Please note, all items should be delivered to Building Number 6, the Community Living Center/Renal Care entrance. Thank you.

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Please be advised there will be a 1st Street Lane Closure (Right lane from Michigan Ave.  to the  Main Entrance)- <strong>nightly</strong> from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning  Monday, December 5, 2011 until  January 31, 2012.  This closure is necessary to install new electrical feeders on campus to support existing and planned construction.  This is part of the Medical Center's aggressive path to upgrade the infrastructure that allows patient care to occur in a safe environment. We apologize for any inconvenience.

			<description><![CDATA[<p><b>DCVAMC’s Main Entrance and Atrium will be temporarily closed Thursday, September 8</b></p>
<p>Veterans, staff and visitors may enter and exit the hospital through the Emergency Department or Building 6 (Community Living Center/Renal) during this time.<br />
&#160;<br />
The Starbucks and Internet Cafés will also be closed.<br />
&#160;<br />
The main entrance and atrium will re-open with normal access on September 9.<br />
&#160;<br />
This temporary closure will not affect Metro bus, valet parking or shuttle services.&#160;<br />
&#160;<br />
Metro Access and Battle Transportation riders, please schedule your pick-up or drop-off at the Building 6 (Community Living Center/Renal) entrance.<br />
&#160;<br />
