We depend on the goodwill of our benefactors and volunteers who wish to give something back to America's heroes.
Volunteer
Volunteers provide many important functions throughout the Medical Center and help make our patients' stay more enjoyable. Volunteers can perform a number of services, and a volunteer's talents are closely matched with one of our many assignments.

Giving
Cash donations are used for the comfort and welfare of our veteran patients, including
- hygiene products
- refreshment supplies
- recreational activities
Non-cash contributions are used to make our patients' stay more enjoyable. Items which are accepted include
- Bottled water
- Coffee and condiments
- New clothing
- Powder washing
- Telephone cards

E-Donate
E-Donate, a new online donation option, provides local community members, area businesses and various nonprofit organizations a quick way to pledge their support for the needs of hospitalized Veterans at the Washington DC VA Medical Center.
E-Donate is simple, speedy and safe. Donors can select from a number of accounts that are designated to support the specific needs of Veteran patients throughout the DC area including:
- DCVAMC All Purpose Account – This account supports various patient needs throughout the medical center that are not funded through other accounts.
- DCVAMC Social Work Account – This account provides assistance to homeless and at-risk Veterans in the DC area who need emergency assistance (i.e. cab fare, telephone cards, clothing etc.)
- DCVAMC Comfort Account – This account provides comfort items such as hygiene items to newly-admitted Veterans.
Donations can be made by credit or debit card. Just click on E-Donation. The actual donation is made through a secure site at the U.S. Department of Treasury. A minimum of $5.00 is required for all online donations through E-Donate.
