Dr. Bidhan C. Bandyopadhyay, who heads the Calcium Signaling Laboratory at the Washington DC VA Medical Center (DCVAMC), and his team are studying the process of regulating calcium concentrations in saliva to look at its implication in salivary stone disease (sialolithiasis) and infection in the salivary gland (sialadenitis).
