Medical Center to Open Clinic at Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital

On September 19, 2011, the Dept. of Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) currently located at 6940 So. Kings Highway, Alexandria, Virginia will move to Ft. Belvoir. The clinic will be co-located with the new Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital. Veterans currently using the Alexandria CBOC will experience no interruption in service and will receive care from the same team of providers. At over 10,000 square feet, the new VA-Ft. Belvoir CBOC, is now the largest in the Washington DC VA Medical Center’s health care system.

The VA-Ft. Belvoir CBOC is located on 9300 DeWitt Loop in the Sunrise Pavilion section of the Community Hospital. Veterans may access Ft. Belvoir through the main entrance (Tulley Gate) with their VA identification card. Those taking public transportation may take the yellow Metro line to the Huntington Metro station and then transfer to the REX bus (Richmond Highway Express) to access the base.

Co-locating the VA-Ft. Belvoir Clinic at the Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital is an example of VA/Department of Defense care-coordination which improves efficiencies and services to active duty military transitioning to VA care, career, retired military and all Veterans.

Veterans with specific questions about care at the VA-Ft. Belvoir CBOC should contact the DCVAMC Patient Service Center at (202) 745-8577.
