Your good health is our business. In an effort to educate veterans on the importance of lifestyle modifications in addition to medication adherence in the treatment of hypertension, educational sessions have been established. The classes, called Primary Care Hypertension Classes, were developed by RNs at the medical center in May of 2005. Class content includes the DASH diet, exercise, medication compliance, home monitoring, and urgent signs/symptoms to be alert to. Brochures with class dates are available in the primary care clinics.
Classes are held every second and fourth Thursday of the month at 10-11:30 a.m. or 2-3:30 p.m. If you need more information, feel free to contact either Donna King, RN, at 202-745-8000, extension. 5232
