Eligibility and Enrollment
Veterans seeking medical care at the Washington DC VA Medical Center must first enroll. If you have never used the services of a VA medical facility or it has been more than six months since you visited the Washington DC VA Medical Center, please report to the Eligibility Office, conveniently located right in the atrium. Clinic Registration
Those individuals who have not been to the facility in six months or more will be asked to provide information to update our records. You may be asked about other types of health insurance you carry, your current income, any service connected disabilities, etc., in addition to your current address and phone number. This is done at the Clinic Registration area of the atrium. The information is required if we are to provide you with healthcare.
Billing and Insurance
You may be billed for a number of copayments as a result of your stay or appointment. We can also file claims with your insurance. Learn more about billing and insurance.
Release of Information
The Release of Information Office processes requests for medical records and assists providers with completing forms for patients. Learn more about release of information.

Wheelchairs
Customer Service staff stationed in the atrium assist patients with limited mobility who would appreciate the use of a wheelchair while in the medical center. Veterans may be escorted in a wheelchair to their appointments, or, as supply allows, get a loaner wheelchair for the entire length of the stay.
Visiting Hours/Policies
Visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day, including holidays. Psychiatric visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Children under six years of age are not permitted in patient or treatment areas.
All Visitors must check in with Police service to receive a visitor's pass. Passes must be worn at all times.
We reserve the right to refuse access who is disruptive to patient care or to the medical staff.
