The Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center took the top spot in performance among all medical centers in the VA system during the first quarter of FY08 (October through November 2007). We were superior in Access and in Clinical Care measurements.

Access is a measurement of how many veterans get appointments within goals set by VA (30 days). Our goal is to give veterans appointments when they want them. Clinical measures rate our success in keeping veterans within safe zones for high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes (blood sugar) and our success in encouraging veterans to be screened for colon cancer and many others potential health risks. At the Washington DC Medical Center, we strive to give you an appointment when you want it and to provide you with excellent care each time you are here.
