May 4 - 10 is Public Service Recognition Week to bring awareness to the men and women who serve as Federal, state and local government employees. This year's theme, "Proud to Serve", is particularly appropriate for those of us with the privilege of caring for the Veterans who have served and defended our Nation. Our dedication is expressed daily in our VA Core Values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence; and in our Medical Center Mission, Respect and serve our nation's Veterans by honoring them with excellent health care. Every day, VA employees, many of whom are Veterans themselves, strive to provide millions of Veterans with the excellent care they have earned and deserve.
