Last year's Cancer Survivorship Day gave hundreds of Veterans and their caregivers an opportunity to engage with each other and celebrate their strength.

Wednesday, June 3, 2015

On Friday, June 5, 2015, the grounds of the medical center, in front of the Emergency Department,  will be transformed into a haven of hope and a celebration of life. This year’s Cancer Survivorship Day theme, It’s All about Life, emphasizes the importance of maintaining a positive outlook during and after cancer treatment. Local Veterans who have or have had cancer are invited to attend the event and may bring along two caregivers or guests.

This is the second year, the medical center has hosted the event to educate and encourage cancer survivors and their family members. The event will feature guest speakers, information booths, a healthy lunch and camaraderie.

For more information or to RSVP for the event, please email Theresa.Pinto@va.gov or phone Voluntary Service, 202-745-8000, ext. 58320.
