Anna Liza Fernandez has spent the last 20 years on a progressive nursing leadership and scholastic excellence track. The Chief of Sterile Processing Department was recently recognized by Nurse.com and the Johnson & Johnson company with a 2016 Giving Excellence Meaning (GEM) Award in the Management (regional) category.

The prestigious annual GEM awards recognize nurses across the county who exhibit professionalism, leadership, education, clinical skills and service.

Ms. Fernandez is no stranger to accolades.  In 2015, her enthusiastic mentorship and service leadership earned her the distinction as VISN 8’s Employee of the Year.

She is a wife, a mother of three, a leader and a nurse. She expertly manages a work-life balance believing that work is never complex when we work as one--  “Itai Doshin”  - “Many in body but one in mind”.
