Washington DC VA Medical Center Outreach Event for Southern Maryland Veterans (Charles, St. Mary’s and Calvert Counties)

When: Saturday, October 15, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and October 16, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Where: St. Mary’s County Oyster Festival, 42455 Fairgrounds Road in Leonardtown, Maryland.

Why: Staff of the Washington DC VA Medical Center (DCVAMC) and its Charlotte Hall, MD Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) will offer enrollment and eligibility services, benefits guidance and general information about VA services to Veterans and active-duty military personnel and their families at the upcoming St. Mary’s County Oyster Festival this weekend. Free flu shots will be offered to eligible Veterans.

The helpful information and support provided during this event will particularly assist recent combat Veterans and their families as they transition to civilian life. A Vet Center mobile unit will be located at the Washington DC VA Medical Center booth to provide readjustment counseling guidance and transition resource assistance.
