New Charlotte Hall CBOC Opens

The Medical Center’s newly-constructed 17,000 square-foot community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC), located at 29640 Three Notch Road in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, officially opened November 2, 2020.

The new CBOC opening marks the culmination of many years of planning and community partnerships. The new Charlotte Hall CBOC will replace the current one and will offer Veterans closer-to-home quality health care and services including: Primary Care; Mental Health; Nutrition and Social Work Services as well as specialty and health care services via secure telehealth technology.  The clinic will also offer Business Office services such as eligibility and enrollment. In the coming months, Dental, Audiology, Ophthalmology, Physical Therapy and Pharmacy Services will also be added.

The new facility has plenty of parking including: 120 parking spaces including 22 for handicap and three van-accessible spaces as well as a weather-protected drop-off and pick-up point.

The clinic is also earth friendly and energy efficient. The CBOC qualifies for two Green Globes certifications which assesses the building’s energy efficiency and use of environmentally sustainable resources. The building also boasts solar photocell controls and LED lighting and vacancy sensors to reduce energy needs and the grounds have indigenous plant to reduce irrigation costs.

Due to COVID-19 guidance, the CBOC will operate at 25% capacity and expand care capacity and services according to a phased approach which ensures the safety of Veterans and staff. Veterans are encouraged to take advantage of telehealth options and telephone appointments whenever possible.

Veterans who are enrolled and assigned to the current Charlotte Hall CBOC will continue to receive care from their assigned VA provider at the new location.  Veterans wishing to schedule an appointment or transfer care to the new facility should call the Patient Service Center, 202-745-8000, option 2.
