Area Airport

There are three major airports that service the DC area: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Dulles International Airport (IAD)  and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI).

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

Fourteen airlines serve Washington National Airport: Air Canada, AirTran, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, Fly Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, US Airways Shuttle, US Airways Express and Virgin America.

Metro Bus and Metrorail: Yellow or Blue Lines. Use covered walkway to take you into the terminal.

Available ground transportation: Taxicabs are readily available outside the terminal. Advance reservations are not needed. SuperShuttle, a van service offers shared rides within the metropolitan area. Washington National Airport is also served by five car rental companies located on site. The airport is accessible from the George Washington Parkway.

Parking at Washington National Airport:

·         Short Term Parking (Serving all Terminals - Credit Card Only) is intended for a brief stay of less than 2 hours and is a short walk to all terminals. The lot does not accept cash.

§  $6 per hour or fraction

§  $36 maximum for each 24-hour period

·         Terminal Parking Garages (Serving Terminals A, B and C) are a short walk to the terminals, and are intended for hourly or longer stays. Free airport shuttles also operate to all terminals.

§  $6 per hour or fraction

§  $36 maximum for each 24-hour period

·         Economy Parking (Serving all Terminals) is intended for long stays, is located away from the terminal and is served by free airport shuttles to all terminals.

§  $15 per each 24 hour period, or fraction. There is no hourly parking rate.

·         Cell Phone Waiting Area is for drivers who wait in the vehicle for arriving passengers and is limited to one hour.

The posted parking rates for garages and lots cannot be adjusted in the event of “full” or unavailable parking in other garages or lots.

The following forms of payment are accepted: cash, American Express, Carte Blanche, Diners, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, and local personal checks. Registered users of the QuickPay smartphone app can also pay for parking at Reagan National directly from the app

Disabled Parking Access at Reagan National

Reagan National Airport's parking facilities are accessible for persons with special needs.  Specially designated parking spaces are available for the disabled in vehicles displaying a government-issued plate or placard for use by the disabled.  Spaces have been designated in the Airport's public parking facilities:

§  Daily and Hourly Garages - on each level close to elevators and Terminal A, B, and C walkways

§  Economy Parking - adjacent to shuttle stops

Parking in spaces established for the disabled is authorized for all vehicles which display a government-issued plate or placard for this purpose.  Other vehicles using these spaces are subject to ticketing and towing.

When a parking facility is full, a uniformed parking assistant can assist you in locating the nearest available special needs parking space. Assistants will be posted outside the entrance of the full facilities. Let the uniformed parking assistant know you need a special needs accessible space; and please show the assistant your government-issued special needs parking credential.

All airport parking shuttles are wheelchair accessible and free of charge to all patrons.  They are equipped with motorized chair lifts.

Nearly 100 shops and restaurants in the Airport Terminals: A mix of national, local and regional retail and food concessions. The airport is currently adding new stores and restaurants and upgrading its facilities.

Airport has an arts program to welcome visitors to the nation’s capital.  The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority offers rotating public art displays and brings musicians, singers, dancers and other artists to Washington’s airports to provide entertainment for passengers throughout the year. There is a Gallery Walk, located in Terminal A, displaying two and three-dimensional works by artists from all over the local area.

Dulles International Airport (IAD)

Thirty-seven airlines serve Dulles International Airport: Aer Lingus, Aeroflot, AeroMexico, Air China, Air France, Alaska Airlines, ANA, American Airlines, Austrian, Avianca, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Copa Airlines, Delta, Emirates, Elite Airways, Etihad Airways, Ethiopian, Frontier, Icleandair, Jet Blue, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Porter, Qatar Airways, Saudi, Silver Airways, Southwest Airlines, South African Airways, SAS, Sun Country Air International, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, Virgin America and Virginia Atlantic.

Metro Bus and Metrorail: Silver Line Express provides non-stop service between Dulles Airport and the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station for just $5. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket counter located inside Door 4 on the Arrivals Level of the Main Terminal. Dulles International Airport will be directly accessible by Metrorail when the extension of the Silver Line is complete (projected for 2018).

Available ground transportation: Washington Flyer is the exclusive supplier of taxi transportation services to Dulles Airport. Reservations are not necessary when leaving the airport. Taxis are available on the lower level of the Main Terminal 24 hours a day. Dulles Airport is also served by 7 car rental companies located on site.

Parking at Dulles Airport: includes two daily garages, four economy parking lots and one hourly lot in front of the Main Terminal. Free shuttle buses are provided to transport passengers from the parking lots to the airport.

·         PAY & GO is an automated payment system with payment machines located in the lower level of the terminal near the east and west exit doors and on the pedestrian bridge near the Daily Parking Garage.

·         Hourly Parking - Rates are $5 per hour for up to four hours, $35 maximum for 24 hours.

·         Garages 1 & 2 - Rates are $4.00 per each half hour, maximum: $17 per day

·         Economy Airport Parking - Rates are $5 per hour or fraction, $10 maximum per day.

Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI)

Getting from BWI to Washington DC (and back)

Shuttles and Car Services: In order to manage traffic on the terminal roadway, BWI Airport has created specific pick-up zones for hotel shuttles and off-airport parking shuttles. Zones 1 and 3 are designated for hotel shuttles. Zone 2 is for off-airport parking shuttles and Zone 4 is used by both hotels and off-airport parking companies.

Trains to the Washington DC Area:

Amtrak provide direct rail service to Union Station in Downtown Washington DC. The BWI Rail Station is just a few miles from the airport and free shuttles are available. For Amtrak schedules and information call 800-USA-RAIL Website: Amtrak www.amtrak.com

MARC Trains also depart from the BWI Rail Station and run to Union Station in Washington, DC and New Carrollton, Seabrook and Bowie in Prince George’s County.

Available ground transportation: BWI Airport Taxi is the exclusive supplier of taxi transportation services to BWI Airport. The taxi stand is located on the Lower Level outside the baggage claim area. The estimated rate to Washington, DC is $63. Bus Transportation:

BWI Express Metrobus departs every 40 minutes for the Greenbelt Metro Station. For more information call 202-637-7000. There are two bus stops. One is located on the lower level of the International Pier and the other stop is located on the lower level of Concourse A/B. Website: BWI Express www.wmata.com

Parking at BWI Airport: free shuttle buses are provided to transport passengers from the parking lots to the airport.

·         Hourly Parking is located directly across the street from the terminal (an easy walk). The first half hour of parking is free, Rates are $2 each half-hour thereafter, up to a maximum of $22 per day.

·         Daily Garage is located at MD 170 and Elm Road. Rates are $3 per half hour for the first hour and $3 per hour thereafter, with a maximum of $12 a day.

·         Express Service Parking (ESP) is located on Elm Road. Rates are $4 per hour or a maximum of $10 per day.

·         Long Term Parking is located on MD 170. Rates are $8 per day.
